In all aspects of life, we find ourselves making decisions.   It may be in relation to our health, work, finances, children, home, marriage — so many things.   And we can go this way, or that way.

The decisions we make every day affect our course, either for that day, week, month or even further into the future.  Sometimes knowing which steps to take can be difficult.  Sometimes knowing where to get advice can be difficult.

Sometimes we talk to someone older who has had some experience in life, a parent, grand-parent, friend — and they say something that helps us know how to make a decision.  Sometimes we see something on a video or website, or read something, that helps us just at the right moment.   Like seeing Celia.  She has some good advice about what to do before making a decision.

It helps our emotional and mental health, physical health, financial health and our natural and spiritual health, to make good decisions.  Listening to our wisest like Celia, and getting help from the older persons in our lives can make a big difference.  They are still taking care of us.  Let’s take care of them, and listen to them.

Over the last decade or so, the terms teamwork, team, and coach have proliferated in business discussions. This article explains more about the anatomy of teams and teamwork. I think you will find it insightful and quite detailed.

It explains the team and its dynamics (many members change over time) and how individual and team goals change over time. Team diversity is an important factor in interpreting team goals and context.  If your team is geographically diverse, as well, differences in the availability of certain resources can be challenging.



The need for a system, goal articulation (why), a shared mindset and strong leadership (coaching) are all important elements in the success of your business team. I am associated with a company that has understood the concept of team work for over 30 years. It has made my activities more effective and much more profitable.

For Moms (or Grandmas and Memes) who want to work from the luxury of their own homes so they can be there more for their children, grandchildren and families, this might be something worth a peek.

Proactive versus Reactive

In so many areas of life, it’s better to be proactive than reactive.  For instance, stay well versus get well.  There are also many areas of life that involve wellness.   There is physical wellness, mental and emotional wellness, financial wellness, and natural and spiritual wellness.  Being proactive in the important areas of life makes us happier, healthier and more prepared.

Some of those important areas of life might be our personal lives and relationships, our home businesses, our friendships, our work or our even recreation.  I need to take the time to reflect on these and sometimes I have to remind myself to do that.  I always feel better when I do.

Simply put, a budget is an estimated list of your income and expenses.   Making a budget can help you reduce your debt. How?  It lets you see where your money is coming from and where it is going every month.  Many people have no idea what they spend their money on.  They just know they have it, or they don’t.  It can be a great tool for avoiding unnecessary stress because it helps you cut down on unnecessary spending.    Here are three steps to help you start getting in the habit of making a budget:

  • Make a simple list of monthly expenses.  Include essentials and extras.
  • Make a simple list of monthly income.  Include all of your activities that generate income.
  • Put in on the refrigerator.  The point is to share it with the rest of the family, whether that is your significant other, spouse, parents, children or grand-children.  This makes it a family affair.
