Physical Health

There is so much information out there on physical health that it gets very confusing when someone is trying to find a particular avenue of physical health information. This section of our healthy lifestyles website will attempt to take some of that information and organize it in a way that it can be easily found by you.

Eating healthy is a big part of our physical health.  We all have our own tastes, attitudes and habits towards food, meals, how it’s cooked, how it’s bought, how it’s eaten, and on and on.  Each of these things can have an impact on how the food we eat is actually benefiting us.  This Physical Health section of our website will explore various foods from all different angles.  There will recipes, methods of cooking, and even reviews and information on different restaurants, locally and far away.   Every recipe listed in this section will be something we have tried, and you’ll hear about how our family and friends enjoyed it.

Whether or not we have certain health conditions or challenges plays a part into how we enjoy our food.  There may be times we need to get used to a new way of eating.  We will examine different conditions that may be helped by eating a different way, or different foods.  Maybe we need to add more color into our diets so that we are getting more nutrition.  We’ll travel along the road to more colorful foods.

Our lifestyle is so important that it plays a huge part in our physical health, and good, healthful sleep is vital.  Mentioning habits again, a good habit of getting enough sleep each night is essential to feeling good, having a good mental outlook, keeping our emotions balanced, being able to think and remember, and even losing weight or maintaining it. Taking high-quality nutritional supplements, reducing the chemicals in our homes, balancing work and family responsibilities — all contribute to a healthy lifestyle.

How do you look?  We usually hear, “How do you feel?” or “How have you been feeling?”, but I ask myself, “How do I look?”.   I do that because I have learned that how I look has a lot to do with how I feel about myself.  Sometimes it feels like a lot of work to keep ourselves looking presentable.  Develop simple habits to keep the basics up, at least.  You will feel so much better about yourself.  Get regular haircuts, keep your nails manicured, your teeth cleaned, your face washed, your weight managed. There are also ways that we can enhance our physical appearance.  A dab of make-up or some nail polish can add some brightness to our appearance. Join us as we discover and re-discover all the exciting things there are about our foods, our home surroundings, our bodies, our clothes and so many more things. Stay tuned for regular updates and information.
